SUMMER (SOUNDS) IS ON ITS WAY! AT LAST!
SMILE is putting the final touches to the arrangements for this year’s Summer Sounds Music Festival, August 15th – 19th, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the sun will put in an appearance during the week.
The RAF Voluntary Band will perform in St Illtyd’s Church, on Wednesday 15th, and A Night at the Opera by CAOS will be held there the following night. Il Vesuvio Italian Restaurant will be hosting a Live Music Extravaganza on Thursday 16th and direct booking at the restaurant is advisable.
The Lounge Lizards will be at the Comprehensive School on Friday 17th, followed by Madassa on Saturday 18th – they were both a huge success last year and we are pleased to welcome them back.
Tickets for all the concerts will be available very shortly from Point Break, in the Poundfield precinct, and from Llantwit Major Town Hall.
On Saturday and Sunday during the day there will be LIVE FREE music in the Poundfield precinct and we are pleased to have favourite bands, such as New Druids, Mabon and The Amigos, making return visits plus new-to-Summer-Sounds bands Sleep Good Feel Good and The Blims. Plus the very popular street entertainers, The Splott Bros.
On Sunday, in the Llantonian Hall, there will be a FREE rock concert from 7.30pm featuring UNITED:3:16, organised by Peace and Hope.
A spokesperson for SMILE said:”This year’s event is going to be bigger and even better than last year – we have excellent music to suit most tastes and we are hoping that everyone in Llantwit will come out to enjoy it and that visitors will see what a great town we have here and come again. And of course the sun will shine!!”
